Hello Chris,
I would like to simulate the ice cover in a lake. I'm wondering how I could visualize the results of the cover.
Furthermore, where could I find the description of the equations implemented in the model for the ice cover?
Regards

Irene

The equations are in: Oveisy, A., Boegman, L. and Imberger, J. 2012. Three-dimensional simulation of lake and ice dynamics during winter. Limnol. Oceanogr. 57(1), 2012, 43-57

The controls are:

In run_AEM3D.dat:

Simulation module controls

iice controls whether the ice model is run 0 = code is off
1 = code is on

Model Settings and Controls

“Constant_snowice_albedo” can be used to set the albedo in run_AEM3D.dat, otherwise albedo is calculated.

In datablock.xml

Output Datatype Keywords

BLUEICE_DEPTH, WHITEICE_DEPTH, SNOW_DEPTH (unit in meter)

In metrological boundary condition file

Snow fall boundary condition

Boundary conditions for Snowfall can be set with a new meteorological variable with the keyword SNOW. Values of snowfall are to be provided in m.day1.
