I have been looking through some of the old caedym documentation and I have a few questions about setting some of the defaults for suspended sediment modeling in run_aem3d. dat.  If I set default_ssol1, is that the initial concentration of sediment in the water column (g/m^3), or is it a fraction of the sediment mass that is organic?  Does the sum of default_ssol1 through default_ssol6 have to sum to 1? Also, is default_ssol1_sed the porosity of the sediment?  Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Deena,

default_ssol1 is the concentration in the water column.  All SS is currently inorganic, with POM accounting for organic particulates.  Also, note the new model does not limit you to 6 groups.

default_ssol1_sed is the amount of ssol1 in the sediments in g/m2.
