It does not appear that any silica is removed with freshwater diatom growth.  I had notable growth, and then the diatoms settled after the spring, but this growth and settling did not reduce the silica concentration.   Any help you can provided would be appreciated.

Hi, I think this may be a bug in the new WQ code.  I'll try and a have a look soon.

I've added a fix for this in the latest download.

Note there is currently a hole in the Silica budget, all losses of Si from diatoms (respiration, excretion, mortality) are put straight into the sediments (this was done in CAEDYM as well).

CAEDYM allowed this Si to be mineralised back into the water column if the CANDI diagenesis model but I haven't implemented that in the new WQ model yet.
