Hi Chris,
I would like to simulate some water quality parameters in AEM3D. As instructed in the final chapter of the AEM3D manual (Chapter 8), the manual provides equations to simulate various substance cycles, such as the nitrogen cycle (e.g., sediment release, mineralization, nitrification, or denitrification) and phytoplankton dynamics (e.g., light uptake, temperature effects, internal nutrients, growth, mortality, or conversion to inorganic particulate forms, etc.).

Correspondingly, there are several files that allow us to define key variables such as oxygen saturation, maximum growth rate, and others. However, I haven’t found any instructions on how to specify the initial concentrations of parameters like nitrogen or phosphorus.

In particular, I am currently studying the development of cyanobacteria, and I would like to understand how to correctly declare parameters in the cyano.dat file such as min_biomass, carbon_Chla_ratio, etc.

Could you please clarify these for me?
I would greatly appreciate your guidance and support. Thank you very much!
