Hi there,

When I read the .nc file with water depth as 3m, at some time at some locations where water depth is 1m or 2m, there also exists velocities, is this reasonable?

Thanks! Best,

Wei

Sorry, I don't really understand the question.  Velocities will normally occur over all depths of the simulation

Thanks for your reply!

I mean when I read the velocity at a layer whose depth is 3m, on this layer, there are locations are land part whose water depth is 1m or 2m, smaller than 3m. There should be no flow velocity at those points in my mind because there is no water at these locations, right? But I find there exists velocities at some points along the shoreline whose water depth is 2m, is this reasonable?
Thanks!Wei

This can occur on boundary cells because velocities are stored on cell faces (rather than cell centers) and then interpolated.
