Hello,

Hoping someone could help me with the following questions regarding heat flux quantities:

1. When I looked into my simulation output values for SOLAR_RAD, these appear to all be 0, and does not reflect the solar radiation values I've specified in my boundary condition file.  I assumed the SOLAR_RAD values should represent the solar radiation reaching the water surface? If this is true, what could be causing the SOLAR_RAD variables to be 0?

2. Could someone please confirm the units for SENS_HEAT_FLUX and LATENT_HEAT_FLUX variable outputs? Are these in W/m^2?

3. What does the MIX_LAYER_D represent, and what are its units?

Thank you!

Chang

Hi,

1) SOLAR_RAD output should be the same as your input.  There is also SOLAR_RAD_SURFACE which is the value that penetrates the surface after reflectance due to albedo.

2) W/m2

3) This is the depth in m of the fully mixed layer
