Hi,

I am trying to apply a drag coefficient of 0.1 on a column of land into the water.

- I have specified the bottom drag values in the bathymetry file. All bottom cells are set to a btm drag of 0.005, except one set to 0.1.

- In the run_aem3d file the DEFAUT_BC is set to 3 = drag all.

First, if my cell bathymetry is 10m higher than the surrounding cells this create a column of land. But will the drag coefficient of 0.1 be applied only to the top face of this cell or also to the sides of the entire column?

Second, are the bottom drag values of the bathymetry file ignored if the drag_btm_cd keyword stills in the run file with a specific value?

Thanks,

Bill

Hi Bill,

There is currently no side drag implementation in the code.

Bottom drags values in the bathymetry file will override any values in the run file.
