Hi everyone!

I have a problem with the open boundary and the sea level values.

I'm working in a Coastal area, where I open all my east boundary with open cell (888). When I trying to see only the effect of sea level or tidal I couldn't.

Just to confirm! When you want to include the sea level area, do you add it to Meteorology file like HEIGHT?

If it is. I create a Met file with a wind direction and speed constants, only the height vary, and I have this error:

10:26:18  INFO:  ***** FATAL ERROR **** FATAL ERROR **** FATAL ERROR *****
10:26:18  INFO:  * in subroutine init_openheight_bc_data
10:26:18  INFO:  * HEIGHT can only be applied to open bc sets
10:26:18  INFO:  * File: infiles/Met2005tideWcts.dat
10:26:18  INFO:  *********************************************************

Can you help me?

First you need to define the open boundary cell in BC file like:

100 open_cell open_boundary_top
1   16:20    :

make sure that you define the open boundary cell correctly. then, you need to add HEIGHT to the BC-Forcing files something similar to:

1 data sets

0 seconds between data

100             100

TIME          HEIGHT

2005001.00       0.11

2005001.01       0.12

2005001.021     0.10

2005001.031     0.11

2005001.042     0.13

2005001.052     0.14

2005001.063     0.13

 ...

...

and also you need to add " your_file_name.dat" to the run_aem3d.dat file with keyword  of boundary_condition_file

Thank you so much!

I resolved the problem!

Just I forgot defined the same set of data for BC.

Thanks!
