Hi Cris,

I would like to ask you some questions:

1- I would like to simulate the thermal dynamics of a lake using AEM3D. For this purpose, I would like to input the change in the transparency of the lake as one of the input variables, so:

Is there a way to enter a file with daily transparency or Par_Exctintion data into AEM3D? In that case, could you tell me how to do it? Would you have any example file?

2-The output keyword LW_HEAT_FLUX would it be in what units? Should it always be negative?

3-What is it and in what equation does AEM3D use RFLCT?

Thank you very much, I greatly appreciate your help

Laura

1) The only way to do this would be to use the update boundary condition functionality.  See sections 2.5 and 7.7.5 of the user manual.  The Round Lake test example has an update BC for the tracer release which you can follow.

2) W/m2. This is the net LW flux so can be negative or positive

3) The RFLCT_EXTINCTION is used for radiation reflected back off the sediment layer and is usually only important in very shallow regions.
